Dutch design(s) in Yoü and I video!

Lady Gaga loves genius dutchies. And it always makes me happy when she's wearing dutch design (because I'm a dutchman and a fashion design student).

This time she is showing some dutch proud in her newest, most beautiful and greatest video music ' Yoü and I' ! It just came out yesterday and OMG it's amazing! You mmight not understand the message after the first time watching, but when you read gaga's 1000th tweet an watch it again, you will know that it's about the lovestory of two people. They love each other by the way they are. And that so fits into her 'Born This Way' concept. And besides the artistic part of the video, it also got some fun parts in it. But now back to fashion!

She is wearing TWO designs of the great Jan Taminiau (36). And it's not the first time she wore his designs. Last winter when she was in Paris for her last Monster Ball Tour she was wearing one of his beautiful designs. And gosh I wish that models would be more like Lady Gaga, because there ain't no other person in the world who can walk in these extremely high heels like Gaga!

Launch Of The Green Fashion Competition at Fashionweek

I went to the Launch of the Green Fashion Competition last saturday at Fashionweek. It's a competition where designers can show them how 'green' they are. And I mean green as sustainable.

The second price winner O shoes presented that evening their new collection of shoes. They are using severed materials so that's pretty green!

They were also at the Modefabriek last sunday and monday with a team called 'Mint' I will write about it as soon as possible!

HEY everyone!!

I'm just so excited to tell you that i'm going to London tomorrow!!

I will make some inspiring pictures of stores, people, locations etc. !!

So that means that I won't post anything this week (even though I haven't posted something for a while)....
But when i'm back in the Netherlands, I will post some pics of london and my inspiration.

Charlie Le Mindu shows you what real fashion is @LFW

So YOU think that fashion is all about beauty, then you're absolutely wrong! And Charlie Le Mindu shows you why.

At London Fashion Week, their models were almost naked, wearing only gasmasks or special white wigs. There were also models who were having blood all over their body. First word that comes out an 'average' person's mouth: That's disgusting and its ugly, that's not fashion. Oh yes it is.

Fashion is not only beauty, it's making something new, making a statement, making people to talk about this collection. People have to expand their mind about fashion and not only saying that it's beautiful or ugly. Is it interesting? Do you see the designers mind in this collection? Do you understand his/her statement? It's weird that people are watching movies with people with blood all over and finds it interesting to watch, but when a naked model comes on the runway with blood all over, then it's disgusting... That's a bit weird huh?

Someone told me last week that people are afraid for new things. And i totally agree with that. Do we have to feel save all the time? Do we have to dress 'beautiful' all the time? Think about it! Fashion is not a brainless beauty thing, it's about being a person, being an individual with your own style. Don't follow trends, make the trends.

And this is what Le Mindu wants to tell you in this show I think. He's also the hairdresser of the best performance artist of now: Lady Gaga.

So again think again what fashion is.
