It's been a long time since i've posted something here, but I was extremely busy with my school assignment. Making a (sustainable) design! I will tell you a little bit about my concept and the two themes I made for school.
I was inspired by an historical clothing piece that I saw in a archive from a museum. The sustainable part of my concept was inspired by it. In the Pelerine (a sort of poncho, but in a more chic way) there were shoulder pads made of pieces of fabric that was left from cutting the patterns out. So I decided that the sustainable part was, that I don't throw any leftovers of fabric away after cutting the patterns out of my clothing piece. I don't want to waste it.
I could choose in 3 different ways to make the design. I chose to work with the playful patterns. It gives new shapes in a clothing piece and that was exactly what I want.
And back to the Historical clothing piece, I also was inspired by it's material. It was woven in a special way, that there was a structure in it, It looked like a skin.
NEW shapes and fabrics that looked like SKIN. So I called my concept 'New Skin' .
And I also have to make a ME and a YOU.
My ME was a kind of rocker, she just kept on going and worked hard like crazy, because she wants to be a rockstar. Here are the pictures. The whole dress was made of denim.
The YOU was a dreamer, a silent person who's a creative artist, she always makes paintings and lives between fantasy and real life. ;) The dress was made of linen and silk, the most annoying fabric you can ever use...
And yesterday there was the show! It was extremely stressful, because there went something wrong with my YOU outfit AND my official models couldn't come, but there were two angels who wanted to help me and made my designs looking fabulous! Unfortunately nobody in the public made pictures, but luckily i made some backstage! Here's one with me as the proud designer.

It was a great experience and I learned so much about how to cope with stress, learn the techniques better and my knowledge about fabric and so much more.
I hope you like it! Please tell me wich one you would like to wear! I prefer the ME, because of it's strong fabric and the better shape. But I'm really REALLY proud of what I made.
